The « Catalogue Raisonné de l’Oeuvre peint » de Stanislas LÉPINE (1835 - 1892) », comprising 810 paintings listed of which 671 are reproduced, was published in 1993. A catalogue devoted to Toulouse Lautrec’s Master « René PRINCETEAU, Catalogue Raisonné "Chevaux et Cavaliers" » was published the following year.
Between 1992 and 1999, Robert and Manuel Schmit published through Editions Galerie Schmit the « Catalogue Raisonné de l’Oeuvre peint d’André DERAIN ( 1880 - 1954 ) » compiled by Mr Michel Kellermann, in three volumes and comprising 2 448 paintings. In 2003, the Galerie Schmit organized, within its walls, an important exhibition of this master comprising about twenty exceptional paintings, nearly two hundred drawings never before shown to the public, and fifteen or so sculptures seen for the first time. This exhibition was a great success.
In 2004, Mr. Manuel Schmit was able to show after several years of personal research, a very beautiful Retrospective of works by Jacques VILLON (1875-1963), which astonished a wide public by the quality of the Master’s painting technique, masterful drawing, and use of lively colours.
At this period, Mr. Manuel Schmit went for the first time to Moscow, and was very impressed by the enthusiasm and taste of the Muscovites for Fine Art. He organized with a view of presenting, in September 2005, for the first time, at the Moscow World Fine Art Fair a magnificent collection of XIXth and XXth century works representative of his activity. Because of the immediate success of this fair, he decided to exhibit again in Moscow in 2006 and 2007, and both selections of works have aroused a real interest from Russian art lovers. Resolutely forward-looking, he will take part in the first Shanghai Fine Jewellery and Art Fair, which will be held in China mid-October 2007. In this way, he is continuing incessantly to develop his contacts and promoting his gallery throughout the world.
